It started during a college gaming session. A group of friends were building out a player in NBA 2K and debating whether to give him an anchor tattoo. The tattoo never made it into the game — but the idea of holding it down stuck.
We were living in house number 199 at the time. We were each other's anchors, supporting and buoying one another through the ups and downs that life threw at us. Years later, though we live in different places, we still hold each other down. We became a family.
HID is the product of that family. We wanted to create things people could trust — garments that feel like they were made by someone who cares, because they were. We want others to feel anchored in their own lives, connected to their friends, family, and the people they love.
We've tried to do right by the planet, too. Hemp, organic cotton, small runs. We're not perfect at it, but we're working on it.
